Kiko Loureiro (16 de Junio,1972) es un guitarrista brasileño, que fue integrante de bandas Legalize, Kentucky y A Chave, entre otras. Su estilo en la banda Angra se basa en el metal progresivo y power metal.

Loureiro comenzó estudiando música y tocando guitarra acústica a los 11 años. Inspirado en artistas como Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, y Randy Rhoads, se cambió a la guitarra electrica a los 13 años y a los 16 estaba en dos bandas, "Legalize" y "A Chave" y tocaba en los clubnocturnos en São Paulo. A los 19 años se unió a la banda de power metal Angra, donde todavía toca. Es conocido por su gran habilidad para tocar la guitarra , apareciendo en las columnas de revistas como Cover Guitarra, Guitar & Bass, and Young Guitar.

Además de sus logros de la rock/metal, Loureiro también ha tocado la guitarra en varias canciones del eurobeat en colaboración con Dave Rodgers, incluyendo “Fevernova”, "Ring of Fire" y "The Road is on Fire"

Hace un tiempo puse el primer disco que escuche de esta banda "Crucify My Heart" y hay que reconocer que el estilo de ambos discos es distinto y se debe quizas a que hay 2 vocalistas distintas... Por un lado tenemos a Tanya que canta en "Be My God" y ella sin duda, tanto de manera visual como vocal daba un toque mas heavy a la banda, su voz resulta mas agresiva que la de Tanja (que parecido los nombres).

Creo que "Crucify My Heart" es el mejor disco que han sacado ( sin desmerecer los otros que igual son buenos) , lo mejor es que los temas son "pegajosos", no se puede soltar el disco por un largo tiempo. No podria explicar que es, quizas las melodias, porque su Vocalista Tanja no tiene una voz tan espectacular.

Tiene 23 años, es ganador del concurso 2007 Finnish Idols que viene siendo como los concursos de "talento" que ha habido en TV Azteca y Televisa, o un tipo American Idol más bien. El caso que este señor gano este concurso apegado a su estilo (Heavy Metal) y demostrando que cuando hay talento no importa el genero que sea la musica que interpretes pues se debe valorar y porque no hasta ganar los concursos.

Como verán buen repertorio se aventó y se llevó el primer lugar con lo que ganó un contrato con Sony BMG y 30,000 euros (420, 000 pesos aprox). Pero más valioso que eso se ganó el prestigio entre los metaleros de finlandia, tanto que Timo Tolkki compuso una cancion para el disco que este así como Tony Kako (en alguna parte lo lei no recuerdo la fuente de esto).

Pues me dí la tarea de buscar este disco y solo lo encontré en archivo fraccionado en dos partes y en otro blog con una calidad bajisima como de 52 kps, pero lo logré bajar por medio de torrents con excelente calidad y pues ya lo subí para compartirlo, aquí se los dejo.

El genero? pues es un Power Metal Freson jajajajajaa, así lo clasifico, es entre Hard Rock con toques Power al estilo del ultimo disco de Sonata. Pero tiene calidad.

El 14 de febrero de 2007, veinte años después de sus primeras grabaciones y diez desde su separación, Héroes del Silencio anunciaron su vuelta a los escenarios con la Héroes del Silencio Tour 2007, gira con la que se presentarán en Ciudad de Guatemala, Buenos Aires, Monterrey, Ciudad de México, Los Ángeles, Sevilla, Zaragoza y Valencia dando únicamente 10 conciertos.

Para llevar a cabo esta gira, el grupo contó con el patrocinio de empresas tanto públicas como privadas, entre las que se incluyó la Expo Zaragoza 2008, el Real Zaragoza y el ayuntamiento de la misma ciudad, donde ofrecieron dos conciertos en el estadio de La Romareda los días 10 y 12 de octubre de 2007.

Las entradas se vendieron en tiempo récord para los conciertos de Sevilla, Zaragoza y México. En menos de 23 horas desde su puesta a la venta, se vendieron todas ellas.

La novedad de este Tour es que no estará el quinto "héroe", el guitarrista Alan Boguslavsky, sino el guitarrista Gonzalo Valdivia, hermano de Juan Valdivia, más conocido en la música aragonesa como "El Alquimista". Las razones para la ausencia de Alan son también de diversa índole, y se baraja que puedan estar causadas por los motivos indicados anteriormente.

En el videojuego Guitar Hero III: Leyendas del Rock aparece su canción Avalancha en la tienda.

Platypus fue concebido por John Myung, el bajista de Dream Theater y su entonces tecladista Derek Sherinian, como una salida creativa en donde pudieran ser desarrolladas las ideas que no tuviera cabida en Dream Theater. Con la unión del guitarrista Ty Tabor de King's X (quien también hizo la vocalización principal) y el baterista Rod Morgenstein de Dixie Dregs, lanzaron dos álbumes entre 1997 y el 2000.

El sonido de la música de Platypus puede ser descrito como un rock progresivo moderno guiado por guitarra y teclado, mezclado con diferentes influencias del rock de los 1970s y las escena de rock progresivo, empleando armonías vocales y piezas instrumentales largas.

Su primer álbum When Pus Comes To Shove, lo hizo razonablemente bien, tanto que inspiró una secuela llamada Ice Cycles, álbum lanzado en el 2000. Después de esto la banda se separó y actualmente no hay planes de re-formación o de grabar otro álbum. A pesar de ello, el legado de Platypus vive, en The Jelly Jam - un proyecto formado en el 2000 consistente de tres cuartos de Platypus (Myung, Morgenstein y Tabor). Ellos han lanzado hasta ahora dos álbumes.

Karma, una agrupación de Progressive Metal que cuenta con la participación de Felipe Andreoli, bajista de los consagrados Angra y por el nuevo vocalista de Shaaman, Thiago Bianchi.

El grupo si tiene un sonido mucho más progresivo y sus canciones no son tan melosas que es la parte donde consiguen no ser considerados un clon de Angra. El disco no es rápido para nada, en un Progressive Metal con canciones bien elaboradas, sin vulgares momentos pirotécnicos, muy melódicos y bastante accesibles; donde los teclados tienen mucho protagonismo sin que se roben el show. Las piezas están bien balanceadas en todas sus líneas.
